In 2013, I moved to Mumbai, India for a college summer internship. For 2+ months, I filmed 3 commercials with a Bollywood production company, Apostrophe Films. The first commercial I worked on was for one of the largest coffee brands in India, Bru Cofee.
Script: The actress (Anushka Sharma) is embarrassed she doesn’t know how to tie a saree (a traditional garment worn in India, passed down as an heirloom). Her best friend (Imran Khan) surprises her and demonstrates how easy it is to tie a saree.
For this ad, I presented set design ideas to the director, developed a motion graphic end card slate that were handed off to an animation team, and worked on site as a script supervisor. As script supervisor, I collaborated with the director to make sure objects did not shift around on set.
The next advertisement I worked on was for Dell.
Script: The son (Sonny) wants his dad to buy him a new laptop. He enlists the help of family members and co-workers to remind his dad of all the reasons why he should buy him a laptop. For this ad, I presented set design ideas to the director, worked on site as an assistant director and hand-crafted the bread laptop made out of olives and carrots. I even designed a coffee cup that was used in a scene, but the scene was cut in post to fulfill the 30 sec request from the client Dell.

My favorite memories from this shoot were traveling to music stores in India to track down a djembe and designing a coffee cup that appeared in the ad.
